This week the Sobeys Culinary Center held the Nova Scotia Junior Hot Salon in Chef K's Kitchen. We were randomly paired with a partner. The Competition rules were that you must create 2 plates. The Appetizer needed to include an apple compote salad. The Entree needed to include pork tenderloin. We were judged on creativity, workmanship, taste and presentation. We had a day and a half to come up with our menus. Each competition or event provides the opportunity for learning. There were 9 teams of two and everyone seemed to be having a great deal of fun. The out comes were greeted with great compliments from Chef K, I believe he felt proud of his students. Thanks to Chef K for the wonderful learning opportunity and thanks to Jacks for the fun four hours!
